Sorry Scott, I'm pirating your user name since your still logged in on my computer.
CK you are the man. I have been kicking myself for not doing it Rite ever since Scott's work of art arrived from your lab in the dessert in (May?). Adapting the z*** to the Rite Way was much harder than I thought. I figure that it was practice for the real deal when the time/funds come.
I am however working on taking Punckrock's unfinished fs spanker off his hands for my first official CK design.
Thanks again for all who came out to my neck of the woods for the best flying ever.
I'll work on my own user name ASAP. Couldn't wait to say something.

Elk Grove!

Paul..........your video magic Really adds to this whole experience!!

So.......the afternoon arrives with a convoy of 4 cars full of primed Ritewingers headed down the freeway ready for action. Scott and Eric were there, somehow able to slip away from the family birthday party for some flights. Everybody purposefully loaded their batts and final adjustments like a military operation, locked and loaded . Everyone wanted to be in the initial formation. I think each pilot went to their bread and butter plane........the TL 50's ( 4W 4S or better ) for the 7 plane assault. The sound was not like some other group of little sissy planes, no, these were men's planes. We all felt relieved to have all 7 planes up and we all started having fun.............big time It was obvious these sturdy, powerful planes would perform like the machines they were designed to be!! ( Thanks CK ) I was totally impressed with the meticulous builds and the flying skills of these Central Californians! Usually there is some ill prepared, excuse ladened whinnier........Not today.

As the afternoon wore on some nice things emerged. Paul brought out his FS Spanker with new CG......flew like a champ with the stability you'd expect from a RW. I think Paul was even surprised at how well it performed during the rolls and speed passes. Scott and Eric had well built planes and knew how to fly them........I wish they had more time to fly. Several of their family members came to the field and made us feel welcome, even though we were obviously obnoxious I need a picture for Twilkers......next frame please..

Twilkers then unveiled the Twilk-O-Launch for the maiden of his American Dream TL 60. That plane is as awesome in person as it is in pictures. The Twilk-O-Launch functioned flawlessly and I wished I had had one, since my launching technique sucked. The 60 experienced a little motor trouble and I got an idea to strip one of my combat planes geared motor spinning a 11X7 prop and try to get the 60 back into the air. Thanks to Eric's hack saw..we were able to graft in a new motor, esc and connectors to run 3s2p 2070's and it flew fine. Great to see that plane in the air

My Boyz

Adam and Dario really helped make this trip the best. We were on the same page for hours and hours during this weekend. Adam was the Rock!! He had a TL50 built in his hangar that I could just pay, plug, and play. I was able to feel comfortable with it in like 3 minutes into the first flight.......We'll built!! He happened to have the time this weekend to be the central contact for everyone...........He was the Henry's and the 3M 90. It was great talking RC and he is as good at flying as anyone could be. He's got all the moves and is a considerate flyer ( except during combat )

Dario and me are cut of the same cloth. We both like to fly a similar style, gimballs to the wall. We are attracted to flying fast and close in like a moth to a flame........it's dangerous, but seductive I was really impressed with his TL 50 with 4W set up on 5s A123's. I think he had one or two packs and was in the air as much as anyone, long flights and a little extra pop. He was feeling the air like he owned it. Fearless to try new moves. We had a great time. the three of us, flying without a hint of competitiveness together......and watching each other.

A few words about Sunday.............next time

Sunday

9:30 arrived at the field to find Adam and Foamcrusher flying. Before there were RiteWings........I was mainly into Unicorns. Me, Foamcrusher and MemyselfandI were some of the most avid posters. Today we had a casual morning watching Foam fly his Fun Jet and Thermal birds and BS'd about Corns. Adam was ripping it up with his RW's and checking out the new planes. We had a nice big field to ourselves, so I thought I'd get in a couple of flights with my Jibe pylon before anyone else arrived. While I was flying, the legendary MemyselfandI showed up with Mini-Me-MyselfandI. Carl was the last one that said they'd like to get together.....so that was great he was able to find the time. He was planeless, so I hooked him up with a nice little Corn, and he got a few flights in and seemed to catch his groove We flew a while and then Carl and Foam had to take off. I grabbed some lunch................and Dario showed up
