The Official Unofficial Ritewing Meet and Fly

Today had to be the funnest day of my time in this hobby we had 7 Ritewingers tearing up the sky at once!!! That has to be a world record!

The morning started at the SVSS in Davis where we all met up and watched the soaring competition. No flying there as the competition was taking place. It was me, Punkrockd, Twilkers, Paul, and Charger.

So we went to a huge ugly field where we were hesitant to fly but we all took our turns and had a blast for a few hours.

Then we all headed to Elk Grove where Reefboy and his bro fly. Thats where the fun really blew up. Seven at once was the coolest sound! We had a few crashes but nothing terminal.

Man what a day! Look for pics and some great video in the next few days!

Adam

PS Chris you slacker!!! We really missed you out there!!!

i had a Great time. i did my best rolling circles with the TL50 and even started practicing rolling loops.

i like fast and up close, some fear me, others laugh. Terry and I were the nutty flyers out of the bunch.

i thank everyone that came along, this only happened because of Terry. thank you so much for the impromptu trip up here, resulting in the others to join the fun.

i am also happy to have met Terry, Paul, Tim and Scott and Eric (again). the sound of 7 planes rippin' it up was an overall new and exciting experience for me and i can only say that the more the merrier. everyone was fun to hang out with, BS'ing in between flights and everyone proved helpful and caring.

i want, no i expect to do this again in the hopefully near future.

kudos to Terry(Charger) for helping all us local slackers to finally get together and reach critical mass. we gotta make this a regular thing.

it was wild. tough to top this, but we just have to try harder next time.

good to meet everyone and put a face to a name.

i'm sorry, well i'm not but that is just rude to spam a thread. maybe it bugs me more then others but (in my opinion) posting here without a comment just to plug your motors does just the opposite to me.

i will not buy

back on topic. Tim we definitely have to try harder. scope out some new locations (just incase) maybe find a good bay area spot for me and adam to join you guys this time.

still grinning ear to ear. today was the first day since my sloping days that i flew all day. loved it.

together we slack.

wOOt

Thanks Tim for showing me the way home.. (My GPS took a dump) Man O Man what a freaking cool day today was.. (And i did not get in the dog house with the wife.)

Ya Terry and Dario are definatly awarded the Madmen award for the day.. And Adam the TL60 is not a combat plane...

When i fly with you guys again i hope im a bit more confidant on the controls.. I have to say it has been a long very long time since i was in the air with 7 planes all bent on being the first to the next turn..

You Guys rock.. I will work on my video and picks over the next few days..

Next time start a thread before you meet, not after. It makes me jealous that I was not there, thats why. Lets find a spot in the Milpitas/San Jose area to have a official Ritewing meet.

It really was a coincidence that this happened? It almost did'nt happen. Then at the last minute it did happen.

We really had no plans, we played it all by ear. It just worked out!

Well how about the end of october then? 27-28?

Its getting close to that time of year where the weather is unpredicable and the days grow short. So the sooner the better.

I do worry though that the weather could destroy the plan. I'd hate for ayone to waste the trip to spend it watching the rain.
