When it fires up, it defaults to all metric units, which requires me to go into the Preferences menu and click on all the English unit options before I can go further. Another nice option would be a global English-Metric button that would allow you to toggle everything but the prop size to English units with one click.

I am not sure how much code change this would take, since I use Scorpion Calc about 8-10 times a day, every day, it would save me a lot of menu clicking.

Thanks!

Lucien
Hi Lucien
It is not so difficult to change the default options.
I will offer this optional version in few days, less than a week.
Regards
Louis

Hi
New version with Imperial units default starting.
Preferences are always here to change the units.
Please, Lucien or anybody , feedback me, if I can improve SC.

SC v2.33

Hi
Scorpion Calc Imperial is up-dated V2.33
small bug corrected (was concerning Vbat management, when changing a motor)
+ 4 new Align props (also a filter for Align props, in preferences)
If you want Metric, change the units by "preferences"
I recall that there is a prop thrust-power calculator (in the menu)
Lucien, if you want more props in the list, think to me.
I ordered (from my own bucks) some Master Airscrew (Electric only and 3 blades) but I am waiting for the US parcel.

Hi,

I've tried to set the altitude to 200 m at "preferences" but it keeps showing 0 m after clicking on "close to accept-return".
Is there anything else one should do to set altitude other than 0 m. ?

Thanks.

Hi FunFly
If you click "ENTER" before "Close-accept to return" that works.
In this case you could see the air-density updated
I will see if I can update, without "ENTER".

Yes, it worked that way, thanks.
But in case it's difficult to update the software, you could write a text on the "Preferences" pop-up window stating:
"Click enter to accept changes"

Sc 2.37

Hi
Scorpion Calc is up-dated
v2.37 for Metric or Imperial default starting (after that, they are totally equivalent)
News : 4 props from GWS (2 pairs of contrarotative 3 blades HD9050x3 and EP1060x3)
Please destroy v2.36 or older

Now it is no more necessary to click enter in the "preferences" form, for altitude Z.
Close = accept directly

Thanks for such an accurate motor calc program. Like most software it takes a while to learn to use it efficiently but the more I use it the friendlier it becomes.

Hi Charles
Accuracy is a problem for different reasons
1) Dispersion of motors Kv (due principally to dispersion of magnets strength)
2) Props parameters from 4 values: diameter, pitch (not sure value), Kpower, Kthrust. For now blade area is not taken into account.
Accuracy of static thrust bench / air wake and environment
3) ESC internal resistance
4) ESC drop voltage / rail/rail
5) Heat extraction (cooling) and running time

So I have done my best to make the best algorithms, with a lot of secret loops.
But I would be glad to stay inside plus or minus 10% fork.
Just for getting an "order of magnitude"
