I need a bit of hand holding. Trying to abandon Windows for Linux. (Ubuntu 8.10) Just starting to learn it but haven't figured out Wine. Can someone give me an idea of how to install ScorpionCalc with Wine? I've already downloaded and unzipped v3.14 but when I left click open with "Wine Windows Program Loader" nothing happens.

To run SC you need to download a copy of MSVBVM60.DLL and put it in your new windows/system directory. (just google for the dll, it's easy to find). Then download SC, right click on the icon and select open with "Wine Windows Program Loader" and you should be good to go.
A better solution for running windows programs is using VMware Player. Check it out. |

To run SC you need also comdlg32.ocx and comdlg32.dll Personnally I have no experience under Linux-Wine. Sorry. Louis |

Thanks guys! I finally got it working (though I'm not absolutely sure how). It won't save any preferences such as metric vs inch etc. It also won't save prop preferences either. That's OK. I just have to do everything manually each time I use it. Still faster than having to re-boot back into Windoze!

Sounds like a file permissions problem. Is SC installed on your "c drive" along with its ini file or just in your home directory?

Minor issue with 3.19. Can't turn off "Warnings" in the Preferences dialog.

It looks like they are always "on" in my preferences screen as well, but when my last choice was no, they do seem to be off(until restarting the program). I just wish there was a way to turn them off permanently..., can't see anything obvious in the ini file...
Oh, and I hope more SII-30 motors will be in there soon (3032/8 being the one I want most...) |

Another minor but annoying problem is all the warnings you get on startup. I have SC setup for a 4020-12 on 6S with a 13x8 APC prop. When I quit SC it saves the prop in the ini file as a 1 70 70 which is a 19x12 prop hense all the warnings on startup. If you edit the ini file for a 13x8 (1,50,70) SC changes the prop to 19x12 in the ini file and posts all the warnings the next time you start it.
