Question
Lithium Polymer batteries approx. 200 mAh?

Hello,

- who has experience with Lithium polymer cells of approx. 200 mAh?
- who knows where I could purchase those cells?

I would like to know how much load current those cells could take.
My plan is to use a Mabuchi 050 type geared motor prop. set with load current of approx. 1.3 - 1.5 A. Number cells will be 2 or 3.

Regards

Hi,

If you go for Kokams then they can source as much as 5C so if you were able to get 200mAh cells they might be good for up to 1A - if your application is going to pull 1.5A then, giving a safer margin (4C) this suggests that you'd really want 375mAh cells. Only thing is that this capacity is not available - after the 145mAh cells the next step up are the 560mAh cells (so easily good for at least 2A). Suggest you have a look at www.fmadirect.com

You may try the lipo battery lists here:

http://progressiverc.com/Research.html

After selecting the 1S or 2S lipo list you can sort the mAh column by clicking the column heading. These sorted results provide a number of 200-300 mAh options with prices and links.

Happy hunting!

Full river cells would be best. Get them from Bob Selman (www.bsdmicrorc.com). I'm just a happy customer of Bob's.

He carries the 130 and 220 cells. The 220 cells can handle up to 10C draw and hold voltage under load VERY well.
