Kawasaki ER-6F (aka Ninja 650R) 650cc 72hp. I love it

And yes, I know the carrier is ugly, but this is my main vehicle. I use it to go around the city, I use it for grocery shopping, I use it for traveling... it has to be able to carry some stuff around.

By looking at that rear suspension, I'm thinking of "Rupp" as short for "Rupture".

I think back in the early 70's a lot of the bikes looked like that, kinda like off-road street bike suspension. Of course being a kid I didn't know any better back then. I still remember being completely amazed one day when we went to a Honda dealership to get a new back fender for the 80cc Rupp, and I saw a Honda "Elsinore" for the first time....the thing was huge, and it had so much suspension travel on it compared to my bike it looked like you could jump off a cliff with it.

It is mighty purdy.
They did a great job in building a bike that was exactly what I wanted for a reasonable price - less than half what a comparable Harley cost.
I probably could have resisted it - until I saw the marketing pic. Once I saw it in black cherry I knew I had to have it. It's even better looking in person.

It's a very comfortable ride, tons of power and great for riding up and down the coast. The weather has just been terrific so it's done a fair amount of commuting miles too.

Just gotta be careful - there are some real dangerous drivers out there.........one almost got me today. Good thing I was watching him.

I'll never understand what people see in cruiser bikes. No aerodynamics, no wind protection, heavy and huge engines with low power-per-cc.
To each his own, of course, I'm not implying anyone who buys a cruiser is stupid, or anything... I just don't get it.

I may sound like a chicken, but I'd NEVER own a street bike again, way too dangerous. I'd feel safer riding out in the woods dealing with rocks, ruts, and roots than on the road dealing with idiot drivers....especially older people who shouldn't even have a license. Last year I saw a guy on a crotch rocket get T-boned by a cargo van......it looked like a giant baseball bat hit him at a 90 degree angle.
