Hyperion 25e J3 Cub Ready to maiden.
I have always had a soft spot for the J3 as it is the plane I soloed in for my license back in 1947 and I had the pleasure to fly one Clip Wing as well. Hyperion calls this a Bush Pilot Model but after some calcs it is almost exactly a 1/7th scale Clip Wing. A Power 10 develops 323W with a 11 X 5.5 APC E Prop on 3S 3100 Polyquest Lipos. AUW is 46.4oz which gives me a wing loading of 16.28oz/sq ft and 113W/lb. 4-HS-81 servos were used for the ailerions, elevator and flaps and a HS-81 with Metal Gears was used for the rudder. ESC is a Phoenix 45 and BEC is a 4A Hyperion. RX is a Berg 7P.
Several of the servo pockets had to be enlarged for the HS-81's. Here are the pics. Comments welcome.
