We had four Seawinds at our float fly this morning. What a sight. Water and wind stayed that calm for over four hours.

Sweet! Are those all setup about the same?


I see only one stock spinner

No spinner for me. Each one is set up different. Mine is stock as in the review. Two have Hobby City motors and batteries, and one has a Hacker 20 20L. They use from 1250 to 2100 3-cell Lipo packs and they all fly great! Common points are that they all balance on the spar and we all use CorrosionX on the electronics and full up elevator to takeoff.

Nice Video, COOL. I'm still amazed everytime I see one fly at how well this little plane flies. It grooves so well and flies so true and always looks great doing it. I'm planning on taking mine to SEFF next week and I'll be flying it off the grass. Hope to get someone to video it for me.

Do you think this plane could carry a 4.4 oz camera for AP? Possible mount with 4.5 x 1 inch hole thru canopy and not much camera above canopy. Not a whole lot of drag.

I don't think the drag or the weight would be a problem, however, the water would be a BIG problem for your camera. Camera electronics and water don't mix well. If it's a waterproof camera, then it might work.

I don't think I would have enough power with my little tp1320 to get it off of the water before a wing tip digs in and destroys my momentum .

Weight shouldn't be a problem, but CG could be tricky. Since camera is entirely forward of CG, might need to relocate the battery.

you can add me to the list of satisfied seawind owners. what a great little plane. I'm new to using lipos though, i'm just wondering what kind of flight times people are getting with the recommended setup 28-30-950 rimfire motor, with different battery packs. i've got tp1320mah and tp2100's.

I have had flights as long as 20 minutes with the TP1320 3S pack and "stock" motor, but typically only go for about 15.

Had a chance to view your excellent video of your seawind in "Bottleneck Flyin" . Very nice mate, great handling seaplane, very nicley flown, good music and editing. I guess you used a hat/head cam ?(track anticipation by head movement.)
Q1. What method of sighting do you use?
Q2. Can you put it on and get the same aim point everytime?
