Not really - my idea of a 'beater heli' is: good electronics/robust servos + rest that can be easily fixed/replaced. Beast X doesn't get damaged in crashes, nor motor/ESC combo. With good luck - good mg servos either. And all of the together would be 5x or more than the kit itself. Actually - even with the 'expensive' kits - you usually end up with 1:3 or 1:4 (kit vs everything else). My first 'proper' kit was Mini Titan - ~120-130 vs 305 (45 servos, 30 ESC, 35 motor, 150 tail gyro+servo, 45 receiver) for everything else.

So, investing, over time of course, into good electronics makes sense, doesn't it? And it is going to transform your view to the helicopters. Don't listen to Paddy - he didn't try it yet, as I said!

And, oh, I would rather put FBL (Beast X in my case) on cheap, easy to repair/'I'm not afraid to fly with' heli than to 'inherently much more stable bigger heli' - as you'll 'feel' the difference straight away. And will be influenced with the wind far less than on big one...

As I said - I don't mind letting you have a go with my MT and Protos(es).
This like expo and D/Rs are Tx settings for Beast X you can easily adjust to suite you. You'll see, I hope July is just around the corner and you're the only one who we're waiting on for our FF so far

Not only long (actually they weren't that long) but some error messages where they weren't before.

Love it LOL. Hey, i'm not trying to inluence anyone, just voice my opinion of it all rather loudly I put FBL in the same catagory as i do Facebook. Also if i were ever to go fbl i can only see one heli it being used on & that's my 450 Airwolf to make it look more scale. On the subject of Airwolf i have just maidened it for the 1st time in almost 2yrs. I have used the GF frame & scorpion motor from my crashed 450 & it flies soooo much lighter now than with the metal frame before. It also has 100% working retracts again at last.

What do you mean? What happened? What about other fields around Reading? Maybe back to Birmingham? Some other place? I'm willing to travel, as you have seen...

This is a shill post by a commercial re-seller. I'm flaggin'.

This ack emma conditions were near-perfect and I got some practice with inverted orientations. Seems I'm slower than most of the other guys around these parts to master upside down flight so it felt good to make a little progress!

Friend from HeliFreak forum met me at an Orlando park to fly. The video is about 10 minutes long but it combines the flights of our 4 helicopters. The 450 Airwolf and the Swedish Army camo copters, both with Walkera V450D01 mechanics, are mine. It was a lot of fun.

What do you mean 'if you can call that successful?'? Did you switch the power off while it was high up? Did you land it levelled? And did you break anything while landing it? If answers are YES, YES, NO - then, by all means, yes.

Just put two 8-minute flights on the night vapor at 4AM in the street in front of my house. Dead calm.

Put 2 flights on as well in a local grocery parking lot at 2AM with the 450. Got the new Scorpion -6 in and working nice with the Castle Ice controller in Governor mode. Its nice to do hard continuous tic tocs and the RPM doesn't change at all.. its sounds weird actually lol
