Wait until you decide to go FBL with it! (or in that matter 450) That's a parallel dimension! LOL

BTW nice, big bird!

Anyway - I didn't keep my eye on forecast close enough and this weekend is going to be another I won't fly! Including fiasco on last Sunday when I killed my DX7. Now new DX8 is waiting to be tested, but look at the weather

Yeh about 10 minutes after that it started raining so we sheltered in the car. It then became sunny but was still raining so we flew the last battery and went home.

How big of a difference is flybarless?

At the moment its going to be a choice between a new charger to parralel charge 4 6s 5000mah in under an hour or a beastx and FBL head.

At least if we upgrade to flybarless the GP780 can go on my 450 and hopefully the tail will actually hold and inspire some confidence for me to try new things without having to waste time everytime the tail kicks and I crash.

I'm not sure where would you benefit the most: FBL TRex-550 or 450! Beast X in 450 makes a big difference. It will boost your confidence significantly + all the windy days you feel like not flying at all - you would just go happily over there and fly as if there's no wind at all! Check this video of my 250 with Microbeast on a windy day (especially around 1:30 - look at the grass swaying on the wind):

Piros with HK250GT with BeastX on a windy day (3 min 13 sec)

I hear you on the weather (sat here with all my lipo's charged-just to be discharged later) staring out of the window and the BeastX best upgrade ever!

clicky, nice video, the Beastx does all the trick, can even tame the wagging DD motor tail of my BSR, FBL BSR test flight video in 16mph wind:

That really sucks. At least the damage isnt too bad. I mean it could be worse. Maybe try a CC Bec Pro? I've heard good things about them and have one waiting to go on my 550

Hope you get back up in the air soon and really test the 700 out.

BTW what happened to the 6HV?

Argh! Thanks! I used this new, in (web) page, image viewer and it doesn't show image captions!.

Thanks... O: )

BTW, you are alive! Each time I attempt inverted pie dish with mCP-X I remember you - you doing it with your Logo!

Any recent videos? How's Laurence's mCP-X - did you get chance to see him flying it, yet?

I fly by the sea and most of the time, there is a strong unpredictable gust. My 250 was almost unflyable until a FBL system was installed. Now it is rock steady and cuts through the wind precisely. Sometimes in FFF, i can see sudden bumps cause by the wind but it still keeps altitude and tracks precisely ahead.

Quite a few people here in Hong Kong are scared of practicing 3D with large electric helis. They would rather fly nitros instead. They feel large electrics are much more dangerous in a crash. A few months, there was a freak accident when a 500 caught fire on crashing. It started a fire and burnt out a large patch of grass at our disused old airport. After that, all model flying at the old airport was banned.
