Yeah, I read about the Raptor gift too, I would of liked that gift for sure but I can't complain about the free plank. I just got back from the LHS with a Park 480 BL 910Kv motor and some props, I have the rest of the parts needed. I might be flying this thing later today... if not... maybe tomorrow morning with my helis.

Sky Dancer,

Blade Strike helped me out too! My motor mount screws in my kit smoked my motor. Awsome guy!

On the other side of things, I flew today finally!

Just went out into the yard and did some FF and hovering orientations and practicing side in landings.

Joel

Did I fly today?!?!?

I flew into a tree! And thank gawd that tree was there, otherwise my priceless T-Rex would've wound up in my pond!

Got her down with a telescoping mast... fell into another mass of branches/leaves and I was able to reach up and unravel her.

Blades had some serious green leaf stains and cobwebs (cobwebs in a tree... go figure!). One of the fans for the forward main drive tail gear broke and pushed upward into the main gear... made it look like my one way bearing was fried briefly.

Spun her up and noticed a few new vibrations that I wasn't happy with. Took her inside, cleaned the blades, replaced the main shaft, feathering shaft, and installed the new blue Align main and tail gear.

Come to find out the feathering and main shafts weren't even bent.

Admits to dumb luck and am extremely greatful

Does a picco z count? If it does, then yes. I was stuck at work all day and didn't get home untill 12:30AM.

Sure it counts!!

Went to the local school field.... NO FOOTBALL this morning!! ... had the big field all by myself. Burnt 3 packs (2-A123s, 1-lipo) on the EP-8 and 2 on the Dragonus. Just easy lazy 8's, FF, tight circles. The Dragonus is flying super since I took my time a did the 'Finless' head setup. Warm sunny morning with very light breeze. What's nice about this field is you can fly from any point around it so no need to have the sun in your eyes. I was going to have the Mini-Pulse plank ready for this morning but my wife found some 'honey dos' for me last night. Maybe after I mow the yard & the wifey leaves me alone.. I might have it ready for a late afternoon flight.

The sim has been my best teaching tool & the internet heli forums has been extremely helpful to me. No telling were I be as far as flying helis without them.
