It was a great day.

A little windy for my liking, but I hadnt flown in a few days and I had an ITCH!

I learned a new move last week and practiced it today? Can someone guess what it is?

Joel

Inverted hover is my guess. Low altitude one too from the looks of the grass stains.

Thanks pal!

hehe, I live in the praries. I was shocked to find grass that wasnt dead!

Word of advice from someone who just learned :

Go down VERY slow. The angle is VERY deceiving from how high you are from what I have found. I scared the out of myself the first time I did it, it touched a few inches before I thought it would.

Joel

P.S.

You got msn? PM me if you do.

I'm not sure if this counts as flying but I did this all on my own. No interference, no component failure, I just flew my heli into the ground as fast as possible. Was coming off the top of a nice big loop and forgot to pull out of some reason.

I've come to rely on the fact that the SE metal bits are hard as nails. Nothing damaged except for some scratches on the tail box. The frames were a different story both lower and one upper needed to be replaced. Fortunately I had some on hand, I'm 90% up and running after a few hours. I did however discover find that the bearings in the blade grips were damaged. I'll buy some replacements tomorrow.

khaoz—

I was with you yesterday. In perfect conditions I was doing nose-in hovering and a circle when the main motor stopped and the heli headed towards the earth in an unchecked fall.

One of the JST plugs for the 'Y' harness (ESC to motor) was not seated all the way. Now I'm waiting for the LHS to open so I can buy a new frame and transfer the components. This is how we become good heli mechanics, right?

P.S.: All parts are on the new frame. I rerouted servo leads, changed the antenna wire, elongated the rear motor mount slot. I am waiting for CA to dry before hover testing.Time is 5:44pm, Sunday. I may be able to fly at the ball field if it isn't already in use.

Sorry to hear about the mishaps fellas... but the only way not to crash... is don't fly and we know that isn't going to happen.

No flying today. Got up at sunrise just to find out we are having somekind of nasty wind storm thingie going on around here. Big gusts of air... I can crash just fine without the help of the wind thank you. Guess I'll tinker with helis, maybe a little decal placement or paint touchup. Then some simulator time... oh it's not the same as really flying but it'll have to do.
