First ever!?? Footy article in a Japanese R/C magazine.
Received my complimentary copy of R/C Technique magazine today. Should you be in Japan anytime from the 10th of this month to 9th of September, go to a book store. Ask the store clerk for a copy of September 2007 Rajikon-gijyutu magazine. Englsih name of the magazine is R/C Technique. It has a big 4 engined amphibious seaplane on the cover. Then flick through the pages to page 47 and voila! A single page article in color!
of my Footy (see thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=681887). This article appeared as part of Modeler's showcase section of the magazine, so I am hoping this will gain POSITIVE publicity for the Footy class here in Japan. Only full scratch models are exhibited in this section, and I think that's what Footys' are all about. If interested, then flip the pages further to page 180, and you will find a two page article about ferrite core noise filters. Eh, this one is for R/C sailPLANES. Score another! Yep, this article is also by me.

Well done!
Any chance of scanning the article or a brief summary in translation? |

Well, eh, okay. It was my first article published in R/C Technique on sailBOATS. But I had lost count on how many articles I have published in that magazine related to R/C sailPLANES. But it feels really nice to have my model in the Modeler's showcase pages, because it too was a first for me. September 2007 issue wont hit the newsstands until the 10th, so I cant show anything yet. But all there it to know about my Footy is already there on my other thread in this forum.

This is how the article was like.
Well, October issue of R/C technique came out today, so might as well make a new post. A bit of history made.

suirendoujin....
Congratulations man!!! For people like me, for whom bluthering online is about the closest I'll get to being published, getting featured in a magazine is a tremendous achievement. Here's hoping to see more from you in the press in the future... and hopefully it'll turn up in a magazine I can get here in Malaysia. Darth |
