I got to fly the F-22 today with winds about 10mph and it handled the wind well I was truly amazed and had a guy drive up and said he saw me flying it the other day from the road and decided to park next to me and watch and was simply amazed that this plane was made out of foam that anyone can buy and fly as fast and nimble as it did. I wil be adding the ailerons to this one to try it out probably tommorrow we'll see how the day goes first.. Thanks for all your help.....Chris |

Chris,
You're very welcome. As you have discovered, these are some awesome flying planes. I'm sure you'll like the F-18 just as much. And if you want to try your hand at a miniature F-22 based on this design, check out this thread. It's put together almost exactly the same, but has only an 18.8" WS. Just finished the decals on mine tonight. It flies great too! And it also handles wind very well, even for it's small size. Pat |

Chris,
Just rebuild the nose section and glue it on! I did that with the F-18. ![]() Pat |

I linked to the F-18 thread up on post 810.
And you can find build links to all of Tomas' models on his website. Pat |

Thanks for the info. Right after I posted that I remembered I had his website saved in my favorites. Must be all the late nights or something building these planes.
In your opinion is there anything you would do different to these planes as far as construction of these planes? They seem to be very tough to take the inpact it did and only tear up the little bit it did... Thanks ....CVOYLES |

Look at the later portion of the F-18 thread where I built #2. I added a lot of CF in places that I found were weak on the first one. But part of my problem was that I was "plopping" my plane down on landing, which tended to create stress cracks on some of the foam. I no longer do that and just land them conventional and let them slide.

That is an ultra cool paint job! Well done. That's the best one I've seen yet. Pat |

Aqeel,
Here's pics of mine. The battery goes on the black velcro, and I lay it across the plane instead of lengthwise. I also included a few pics on how I linked the ailerons and elevators together on the same servos. Pat |
