I don't quite understand what you mean about the bottom and side parts.

I'm speaking of the gap that is shown here. The bottom of the fuselage is 6 mm below the nose part of the profile.

Thanks. Did you cut your slots at an angle?

Bowing the deck didin't work very well so I cut wedges out of the tabs and bent the tabs over to match the side/deck angle.

while i wait for the UPS truck with my depron order. i had some Dow 1/2 foam laying around so i cut out a scaled up version. going tp cut one out with the plans when the foam gets here.

Wingspan 40 inches
Length 56 inches
Weight with parts cut now have about 4 more parts and a lot of sanding 11 5/8 oz

Let me know how yours works out. I built mine with a 36" wingspan and it will barely roll. Pitch response is ok but the lack of roll made mine unmanagable. I used a 7 inch prop and I didn't see any torque roll effects. My thought is the wingspan may be to large to be rolled by tailerons???

I was thinking of adding ailerons.

Any input is appreciated.

I may set it up like my Hobby Lobby Sukhoi SU-27 XXL with both ailerons and tailerons only way to go other than a servo for the elevators and two for the ailerons. the SU-27 XXL flys very well on it's set up, still have'nt really made up my mind the way i'm going to go. but it's going to be awhile as i work in Saudi Arabia 35 days on/ 35 days off and i leave out the first of the week, so there is 5 weeks before i can get back after it. i hope to get all the parts cut and fitted before i leave.

Yes, and I also cut the side panels at an angle. It worked well.

Mine turned out OK but I wish I had cut them at angles.

Tomhe, is the an advantage to tailerons or would you be better off with elevator, ailerons and rudder?

If the roll rate is too slow you can try adding ailerons as I mentioned in post #8.

Well, the obvious advantage with only tailerons is that it is so simple to setup. That's why I'm starting out that way. The YardBird F-22 seems to do well with only tailerons.

I'm just guessing, but it seems that at slow speeds (specially when launching) that taileron with the mid-motor design would give you better roll control due to the prop wash over the tail control surfaces?

That's what I'm hoping for. We'll have to wait and see.

Does linking ailerons with tailerons have an adverse effect to elevator control?
