Now flight ready with 3s battery...
total weight = 30.1945oz.

My order of depron has arrived, so if it dont fly, I can now make a lighter version.
Although, it feels like it wants to take off from my hands with the 2200kv .

Hoping to maiden in a week. Have camera ready ....even if its to record a fail

I'm also interested in the results. Does the leading edges need to be taped or something? Seem like the coro would create alot of drag with all the little openings/flutes/what ever you call them.

Coro Questions

That's the way we run our wing flutes, also. Across the wing, for support.
No need for a carbon wing spar - she's plenty stiff.
Our tail flutes run vertically, just like thren.
The flutes for the bottom body run horizontally the long ways down the sides, but the way this build locks together I don't think it really makes much difference.
The bottom "floor" has the flutes running sideways, same as the wing.

Also, note the cutouts on the bottom piece. This will help you loose some weight on the build. I'll probably make them even a bit bigger next time.

Great! Even with her weight, she's fast enough & responsive enough.

I've put clear packing tape on the leading edge of the wings, to seal the flute openings. It seemed like the right thing to do ....

I got her all buttoned up tonight. Did some midnight test flying in the front yard! (silly kids) I used my TLAR precision ballancer and positioned the battery. Presto! Nice power on test glide. Doinked a low hanging tree branch after about a dozen tosses. No real damage but has me thinking about an EPP version for an everyday beat around plane. Cant wait for morning to giver' a proper flight. Then finish detailing---

Got the maiden in this morning. light rain with overcast skies made it hard to see! Faster than I thought and slows down to a high alpha crawl.

L'ho fatto con la schiuma dollaro albero. È venuto alla grande, economico e stato divertente. Io posto le foto al più presto. Godetevi la vostra build!

6mmflyrc F-22 raptor-3rd flight (2 min 12 sec)

Need to move the cg forward a touch and up my throws. I am having a lot of fun with this foamie! Ailerons on the next one for sure. I also want to add a little protection to the leading edge. Set up is a Turnigy 2826-6 2200kv with The Turnigy AE 30 esc. Battery is a 1300mah 25c Gens Ace. The prop is an APC 6-4R. I am running 2 D220 Solar servos. I like these servos. Quick little digital servo with good centering. My 9 year old son is a bit bouncey on the camera spitting out a mosquito! I buit this one for him but he is still a bit nevous about flying it. Mostly because he loses orientation watching it. I cant thank everyone enough for this thread. Tomhe for the designs. 6mmflyrc.com for saving me time cutting out parts. CRXmanPat for the moral support! Time to go fly----

I just did some doppler runs and got 57.8, 72.5 and 58.4 Not a speed demon but fast and can do some really violent turns. Couple that with the screaming sound it is truly impressive!
