Do you mean add a spar, or add a KF airfoil?
If spar, I always recommend adding a spar, not matter how stiff the foam feels. You be surprised at the amount of stress you can put on this airframe. If KF, I say it doesn't need it. Some guys say it flies better, I say it flies just fine without. ![]() Pat |

Oh, and next time you use Elmers, I suggest soaking the paper and removing it. Because as you say, if it gets wet it may warp.

The profile shouldn't be "hiding" the prop, even on the smaller size. The one in my avatar is about 65% of this one, and I use a GWS 4.5x3 prop and it works just fine.
Are you sure the prop is on correctly (front of the prop facing the front of the plane)? Pat |

Pat,
I've got your motor (the suppo 2212-06 2200 kv) in the FF-117. Goes fantastic on a 2200mah 3S! Motor temp is 50 Celcius, and battery about 37. Forgot to measure the ESC, but was handwarm on all flights ![]() On a 6x4 APC prop it does 115 km/h, yet more than 10 minutes of flying time. I couldn't be happier! Video (if that's okay in the F-22 thread...)

So I try the gws5x4.3. I do not see a difference but the esc has cut two times.
I will check the amp draws with the apc4.75x4.75 and the gws 5x4.3

Hi Cid156,
I've not used the emax motor, but isn't it a 2S motor? Check the picture below - you might be using too many V's and pulling too many A's for this motor.... 2S and 12-14 A (<60 sec) recommended. Not sure on the reliability of those specs though, so if you have a better source of info for the motor maybe follow that, but just a thought! Cheers, ResQ |
