Puffins:

The Blue Body and 3.5mm sets that I get from HK dont have the "hole".
STILL you have to be STEADY to keep from dribbling solder over the edge.

I HAVE gotten some from other places that DID have holes and were miserable to solder.

That is a neat trick you have however.
I'll have to give it a try on all my "set aside" 3.5 mm stuff.

Hey guys,

after reading about an interesting landing technique in another thread I tried it myself.

Daniel you got me wanting to get out my trusty F-22, I want to build another one with the canopy like yours, do you have the drawings?

Torsten, that is a pretty cool approach and landing!

Hi guys is new to the forum, and new to building this sort of thing. I've just assembled a 50% version of this from 3mm depron and was wondering if anyone else has done the same sort of thing. I've order some parts and hope to run it on 2s packs on a 2000kv Micro Brushless. I hope i haven't gone too light on the setup but we will see when the parts arrive from hobbyking.

You're in luck, Joe! There is an entire movement of guys making the exact smaller F-22 you're building. Lots of great tips on there...

My version of this beautifull Design

Here is a new entry for this F-22 Raptor, which I will call the F-22 Rastor due to the color scheme I use. Unfortunately didn't have access to Grey or Brown Depron so I had to go with what was available to me right now.

The power of choice is a Turnigy 1900 KVA, 30A ESC, 2 servos 9gr and 1000 & 1300 mAh battery.

Here are few pictures of how far I am in the build. The plane will only be glued with Hotglue which never failed me so far.

RCSquale Nice, are you saying the depron is those colors? I've never seen anything except black or white.

Yes buddy we are fortunate indeed here in the UAE, there is a wide variety of colors
Blue, green, black, white, silver, brown, pink, red.yellow and few others which makes cosmetic looks a bit more easy

I generally like 2 tones plane and mainly fuselage will be black.

Here are few example going to my builds:

C'mon !!!

I can see the WHITE color BETWEEN the other COLORS !

It's a paper skin of some sort, RIGHT ?

It's not Colored all the way thru.

Of course! Lol I thought it was clear for everyone that it was Depron which was covered with a sort of vinyl... And not colored depron... My bad if you thought I was miss leading

Yes it's skinned with a thin paper laminate on both sides, gives it added stiffness, and it folds instead of chipping. We have it here in the Philippines too.

Nice planes RCSquale!

I was in Dubai for a while test flying helis for Ultimate Heli.

I did not get to visit Ras Al-Khaima, just heard it was a nice place.
