Hope to have some pics up soon!
Congrats, 4s definitely makes a huge difference! Please share your pics!

profilefan...Thanks for the quick response. Another question:

Did you use both a 3s and 4s with your F-22 EDF? Which do you prefer?

I have a few other motors I can put in my XF-Fan like:
Hoffman's MightyMite 4620kv (4s)and a 5700kv (3s),
LittleScreamer JetScream 4500kv and 5100kv both can handle (4s)
Don's Wicked 5400kv (3s or 4s depends on blades).

Yes, 4s and never went back I used a 4s rhino 1750 25c and 2150 25c lipos.

I only have experience using the Wicked 5400kv so not sure about the others. I have the Wicked 5400kv on a different fan. I am using the Wicked 4800kv on the XF fan for my raptor. But the Wicked 5400kv is a great motor as well. If you decide to use the Wicked you have to get this adapter, sorry forgot to mention this originally.

With the 4s set up i get about 4-5 minutes of flight time with don's motors.

Look forward to seeing your raptor

HeliTB-

I know this is not a raptor video but its a tomhe plan

I want to give you an idea of the speed and power you would get using the xf fan with the stock kms motor on a 3s 2200 mah 25c lipo.

profilefan...Thanks so much. My Don's Wicked motors have the adapter on them.

Are you saying I'm a need to swap the adapters out?
Are you also saying the stock motor is good? I'm at work and we can't get flickr, but we can get youtube. Go figure.

Okay no problem then just install it on the XF fan and your all set.

In my opinion the stock motor is good enough for flight.

But i really prefer the power and sound of the wicked on 4s. The wicked on 3s is slightly better than the stock motor.

LOL, i can get flickr but can't get youtube here at work.

I may just have to build a second with another XF Fan on 3s.

Wow that's odd. You can watch flickr and I can watch youtube. Amazing.

Here are a couple of pics of my modified edf F-22. I mounted the fan about an inch forward of the standard pusher placement. I built it from the 100% plans. I bought the edf unit from Hobby-Lobby, it is made by Freewing Model www.sz-freewing.com. I just noticed that HobbyKing is now selling it also.

Heres the link.http://www.unitedhobbies.com/UNITEDH...dProduct=11165
