Charging Multiple Packs with CellPro or BalancePro Charge Protection Modules
Per the instructions for either the FMA CellPro or BalancePro Charge Protection Module (CPM), multiple CPMs may be daisy-chained in a series-charging arrangement to provide overcharge protection when charging multiple lipo packs simultaneously from a single charger.
Unlike the normal paralleled multi-pack setup, I'm not clear on this series arrangement. When any of the CPMs shuts off charge to its respective pack, what actually happens? Does the CPM shunt the pack out of the series loop, whereby the charger is supposed to sense the reduced voltage across the remaining packs being charged and adjust its voltage output accordingly?..... or does the CPM block charge current to the pack but still allow its voltage to be sensed by the charger?
TIA for any clarification.
