My new Beaver at the Kennedy Space Center's flyers Field. Ready to perform numerous snap rolls and loops! Beaver stayed up for 10 minutes using the 8Cell (AAA), 9.6Volt, 720mAH, NiMH, Sanyo Flat Pack and using throttel management.

Carlos,
If I was you, I would give up RC flight and take up shotgun cleaning on the front porch to keep the boys at bay.

I just ordered the AAA 8 cell for my Zero.

I never thought about putting it in my Beaver. I'll have to try that.

Nice Beaver, where did you get the checkered racing tape?

How old is your daughter? Does she fly?

Leslie,

The 8 Cell, (AAA) 9.6Volt, 720mAH, Sanyo Flat Pack gives me almost 9 minutes and that's without too much throttel management.

The decals are really neat. They come in a long sheet of 36" X 10" approximately and should be available at one of your local hobby store. I got my from GRAVES HOBBIES in Orlando, Florida. Their WEB SITE is as follows:

http://www.gravesrc.com

They have the solid color peal offs and the checkered board racing type in several colors. They have a complete line of foamie tires of all sizes and props for the GWS planes including the 3 and 4 blade props. When you come in Mr. Graves store, you get dizzy from looking up on the ceiling of all kinds of aircraft models.

Regards,
Carlos.

Thanks for the info. My friend is down in Orlando going to school now. Maybe I'll tell him to stop by that hobby shop.

Do you have any slower planes such as the Tiger Moth?

I have the TM, Beaver and Zero. Also ad a Slow Stick that I gave to a friend.

I like the TM becasue I can fly it in my backyard without going to the local schoolyard etc..

Leslie,

No, my buddy has the Tiger Moth and I had the pleasure to fly it a couple of times. I am not that into biplanes so, I didn't consider any biplanes. Yes, you are correct that the Tiger Moth can fly in a very tight area such as a typical back yard. Assuming you don't have cone heads for your next door neighbors.

Okay, GRAVES HOBBIES is located at US-441 (known as the ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL) near the Orlando Country Club, north of the main drag known as Colonial Drive, (State Road 50 or SR-50).

So, with the exception of the Tiger Moth you and I have pretty much the same GWS planes, wow!

Well, I have repainted my ZERO and it looks much better and can see it way better during overcast days. When you ZERO gets a little ground batterd, I recommend you paint yours a little lighter color green such that you can see it better.

Okay, hope this helps and keep it in the air!
Carlos.

Excellent Sunday morning in Orlando, Fl

Dear GWS Beaver Fans:

Most excellent Sunday morning in Orlando, Florida! Flew at an empty lot near my place between a HomeDepot and a US Post Office. It's about 10 acres and it is very flat and grassy with some sand. The only thing there is XMASS tree tent.

I had a most enjoyable flight with the GWS Beaver! I was able to command it to do loops and rolls with rudder and the best elevator combination.

I alternated two flight battery packs and each identical, both 8 Cell, 9.6Volt, (AAA), 720mAH, NiMH, Sanyo Flat Packs. My last flight lasted 17 minutes!!!! I didn't do any loops or rolls just stayed up and allow it to float and gain altitude with some nice thermals coming from the busy Alafaya Trail, a four lane road. Some pretty good hot stuff was coming from this road and I was able to make the Beaver go up even with half juice on the stick!

Here's my new Beaver model and my other GWS fleet.

Take care!
Carlos.

Met two new Electric Flyers at the field today

Hello GWS Beaver Fans:

Met two new ELECTRIC FLYERS today at the next to that HOMEDEPOT Field in Orlando, Florida. They had a ZAGGIE flying and others. Wow! ELECTRIC's are moving up in the hobbie. Who needs those smelly, big, powerful, bute force GAS planes!

GO ELECTRICS!
Carlos

Lunch Time @ the Space Center!

The Beaver will fly at high noon at the Space Center! This plane is really a good looker and performs very good loops and snap rolls because of it's quick responsive and touchy controls! The Beaver performs nice slow and low passes to make you think it's the real Canadian bush plane!

I will take some new pictures of it in action on Monday!

Take care and happy flying!
Carlos.

Great two flights on the Beaver today!

This GWS Beaver model is a true slow flyer !! In approximately 6 MPG breeze, I was able to float the Beaver stationary over my head for about 15 seconds with less than 50% throttel on the jucie! Of course this was pointing the Beaver against the wind direction. Wow, I was able to perform loops and snap rolls with it while flying against the wind for added effect.

Great Flying Machine!!! GO BEAVER!

Regards,
Carlos.
