Kyosho H.O.R. Good first bike?

I'm thinking about trying electric RC motorcyles. How is the Kyosho HOR for a noob. I'm not racing, just playing around.

What is the prefered set up - brushed or brushless? Any "must have" hop ups?

Thanks in advance!

For your first Bike I would grab a Ricky. Search ebay or this forum to buy one.

I checked out the Ricky and I would rather go with a street bike than motorcross. Also, I prefer to build it instead of rtr.

BTW, I'm not new to RC. I've flown planes, heli's and have had many car both nitro and electric. Trying rc motorcyles looks like a lot of fun and it's something new.

Is the Mamba 25 a good set up for a HOR? If not what is a good motor/ESC set up?

Kyosho HOR

If you are new to bikes then i would try the HOR with the standard ESC and Servo that Kyosho sell for these products (although made by futaba)
Price is about same as kit though part number 2567-27
Then when you get good upgrade the bike to cope with more power then stick in a mamba brushless

Its states in the info on Towers site it cant be used with an FM radio. My younger bro just got a HOR bike and needs a set up cheap that will work with the stock motor for now and an FM radio set up. I'd like to try and find an ESC that will run the stock motor/pack set up but also be able to use a little bigger motor later down the road.. Can you recommend anything else maybe from Tower?? I am not good with the electric stuff..

Thanks

I would go with a 1/5 scale bike. The HOR"s are nice, but I think
you will find the 1/5 a little more to scale. Most of the people, not
everyone is running the TT Nitro or Electrics so you'll have someone
to race with. YOu might consider a TTN or TTE, maybe an NF bike?

sorry i haven't got back to this but the vendetta ecs i used with am fm and dsm just fine. just fyi. but a 5th scaler is tougher than the 8th. in the long run a 5th is better and if you decide to sell it there is more of a market.
