Hi,

Interesting, any info on weight and building costs? Do you have a PCB for it?

Regards,

Jan-Dirk

Left one is dual conversion, Right one is direct(NOT Single) conversion Rx.

I like your use of the RSSI output to set the detect threshold of the decoded data. Is this something that you thought up on your own? This looks {to me} like a better way than the RC integrator method.

And speaking of the RSSI output, here is an idea for you. Extend the buffered output to a 2-pin connector. Now, when you are range testing at the field, just plug in your DVM or a custom LED bargraph display to accurately see the RF strength. Sure beats waiting for servos to glitch.

Mr.RC-CAM,

Not my idea.
The slicer digital output has a lot of FM noise while no RF signal coming at this Rx. But, the shift register carry out all FM pulsed noise.
That is why I used 74164+pulse omittion circuit.

Thanks for the additional info. Please keep us informed on your progress.

By the way, point "B" on the schematic is actually VCC. It belongs on the signal line going to U3 pin 1-2 (or so I believe).

I edit it.

Thanks Mr.RC-CAM,
I edit the schematic.

Have you think about R17 delay circuit on my schematic, anyway?

I have seen that RC circuitry trickery on other R/C designs and it works well. Here is another home brew Rx that uses a variation of it:

I was most interested in your use of the RSSI output to manage the signal offset voltage level. I think that is a wonderful idea.
