Need a video of a zip launch
My Friend has a Hobby Lobby Super Dimona electric glider that really should be launched from a runway, but we dont' have a runway. It is very difficult to grab the plane to give it a good hand launch, so we want to try a zip launch just to get it into the air.
Anyone have a video of something like this? We are not looking for extreme height, like a hi-start, or extreme speed as I have seen with with flying wings. Just want to get it into the air. 20 feet and flying speed would be perfect, then we hit the motor and off we go.
I have been trying to articulate the process but I am not doing a good job. Anyone have a video of a low/flat style zip launch of any kind?
Any tips on hook position?
We will be using 25' of rubber with maybe 25 feet of line. I am thinking the hook should be at least 1.5" in front of the CG but maybe it should be further forward.

With the zip starts I've done, you want the hook as far forward as possible. On the 60" sloperacers I've done it on, I've had the hook right under the nose, otherwise the plane will pull up.
The Dimona's electric right?
