I never painted a canopy before. I seem to be too busy trying to machine parts with crude tools.

That looks like a nice set. Speaking of crude tools, the MicroLux drill press arrived and it works VERY well- I totally recommend it. I just used it today with a cutoff wheel chucked in it to cut my new Eco8 carbon frame to fit the battery tray. My Eco8 might even see some flight time soon. It's been binned for way too long. The pinion gear has rust on it

Gadget, Is the workshop back in business? simages, If you cut down the length of those skids, it will look better. The Trex 500 gear might be a better fit.

Prehaps....... but I don't care for the skinny rails and that's a bad photo angle. Have thought of shorting them, but those act as my training gear.

Took down the ECO and started back where I left off...... Always intended to trim the skids -
Removed 1" from front and 2" from rear, now 247mm just a bit longer then the TRex500...

Recently obtained the TM-7 7-Channel Module and a few receivers for my 9CHPS radio and looking forward to the conversion.

Those landing gear skids nearly qualify for training gear status.

I have that same canopy on order- hoping it arrives in the next few days. I'm really close to having an Eco in the air again..... finally. I put in some hours yesterday on LG blocks. It's far better looking than the stock canopy for a fraction of the price.

LOL it sure does! Dog, I'm getting real close to test-flying your washout base (something about that statement just sounds odd).

Your right and I'll remove that 'plasticee' washout base as soon as I remember how....

Working on the tail servo mount for my S9254..... as you know it's a bit larger then the S9650 and requires some attention especially since I'm modeling mine after Gadget's...

Rough cut larger servo mount and I've been holding off for some time on this Proxxon 37110 MICRO mill ...... but when it comes to fabricating this kind of stuff, I want so much to just order it...........

In fact it comes with the Proxxon KT70 unit so, I'd have one for sale.... to soften the cost

Thanks..... I was thinking of them as "Tuff Gear" but they certainly can dual as training gear too!

I remember the discussions from 2007 when Gadgets' ECO was in its early morphing, just took me awhile.

Well.... that took longer then expected..... Pleased with the result because I didn't have to shorten tail control rod and it remains just left center under the boom.

Nice work! That servo arm looks kinda long. You'll get better servo resolution if you go a little shorter/ choose a hole closer to center.

My new Darth canopy just arrived. I got 3 more LG blocks done yesterday. The wife asked.... why do you need so many helicopters? I respond... "why do you need so many pairs of shoes?"

OOOOHHHHHHH Gadget I will have to remember that one !

hey Simages try the center hole, that one is way to far out. And it will probably be in the center of the tube also.

My thoughts exactly....... servo arm and the shoes.

Which is why I made a shorty as well thinking that might mount the servo vertical instead.... leaning that way still.

Claudia is great and doesn't count the aircraft, but then again there not in her kitchen. I only have my 2 micros, a 400, Trex450 and 2.9 ECO8s. Once we get the new space with work shop..... she still won't count.......

What's up with that mismatched 2mm hardware securing the servo? WEAK! And that extra weight on the servo arm.... that will negatively impact CG and roll-rates.

Only you would have noticed and pointed that out...... how did those get in my "new" RTL ziplocks.....

But wait..... I'll be d****d - now that I checked that 2M x10mm bag.... 1/3 of the heads are mismatched.

What mismatched hardware?

Gadget - what's my Next step, run around outside and practice falling down?

If so, you once told me that you would be there in a minute to supervise.
