OK... - How? Either I've got a rubbish version (I downloaded the latest from his website a couple of weeks ago) or there's something I've missed.

I paid for it, but haven't got the Pro version - did I download the wrong one or is it more expensive?

Do you need Pro version or is it in the regular one? If so, how to I get to the DAT import bit?

Ta muchly,

Open a dat file that you know works in notepad, look at the format. Open the dat file in question in notepad, is it formatted the same? They should look similar as a dat file is a very basic file.

One of the writers/readers here wrote a LISP program which only works in Autocad and will convert DAT and COR files into an airfoil at One unit scale. You then are expected to scale up to corrected chord, in inches. From there is simple matter to export as a DXF file in several versions.

However, all of this require Autocad. The freeware LISP conversion can be downloaded at CADALOG. My version kept going inverted, and as he watches these forums, he re-wrote it that week to correct this annoyance.

Create a simply rib (no spars and so on), you can then export it to DXF

The 10 Euro version does some things, but you have to contact Stephan to get the PRO version that does it all. He will give you a download code, then snail mail you a CD for the rest. With this version for around 35 to 40 Euro he will give you a "hobbyist" license. I don't know what a "professional" (for profit) license costs.

The basic version is enough, use the Import menu item of Airfoil management to load a DAT file into Profili

Hi

I've got the Profili pro version and when I go though 'Import' in the 'Airfoil management' for a .DAT file, there is an error saying 'please insert the airfoil name.' But it never gave me an option to do that anywhere!

What do I do? Thanks!

Probably that is not a well formatted .DAT file
Please send me it at info@profili2.com and I'll take a look to see where the problem is

best regards
