In the other DIY brushless esc thread, the Konze's schematic has a much simpler drive circuit using P and N ch FET's. I got so busy with work I am embarassed to say that I was never able to breadboard your esc design. I still greatly appreciate you having sent me the programmed Atmel chip. When I was in Japan last month, I picked up some cheap N and P ch FETs at Akidzuki so I can breadboard your esc, and I have some CDrom motors ready to test. Will your design still work, if I swap our design's driver section to Konze's driver circuit ?

EP,

I am writing. The problem is "I am a Sunday software writer".

Ok, hope to hear from you soon Takao

Takao-san:
I've been busy with work, and also enjoying making, flying and crashing my planes. A couple of months ago, I bought a CC PH35 esc and an ACn16/15/4 combat(5mm shaft) motor and have been busy flying my pseudo S400 plyon plane. I am on the third plane now. After picking up some P and N ch FETs at Akidzuki last month, I decided to work on the esc again. I want to make the drive circuit as simple as possible. I can't remember the part number right now, but it was the 200 yen / piece ones. I hope the gate capacitances are low enough to drive directly from the ATMEL ? Does the speed up diode in resistor which is gate circuit make a big difference ? Is a fast trr diode required ?

EP,

How much your MOSFET drive "C" as Q(Q=CV)?
You may find lower Q in the latest 30V VDS MOSFET.

Pch. MOSFET drives may be OK by NPN Tr. driver.
But, C-MOS CPU output latch drives Nch. MOSFET directly.
So, try with higher CPU power supply or use the Hi-speed C-MOS driver as 74AC for buffer, if the drive power is not enough.

Takao

FET's I have

Takao-san:
I have some Hitachi 2SJ533 for the P chan and some IR IRLI3803 for the N channel. What do you think ? The N chan has too much gate cap for the ATMEL to drive directly ?

EP,

>Hitachi 2SJ533 for the P chan

The RDS "On" is 0.028 ohm.
You may need a heatsink.

http://alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pd...CHI/2SJ533.pdf

>IRLI3803
Qgs=41nC
You may need the current limit resister(47ohm) on the gate pin.

You are highly respected by all of GWS staffs.

Dear Shimizu San, Pls allow me to call you "SenSei".

When I was in high school, I read so many of your articles about how to build an RC system.

Today, GWS had some sucessful products, partially were because of you affect to me very deeply! But I still never as good as you are!

Wish I still have more chance to see you again soon? Or, whenever that you have a business trip to Taiwan, GWS would like to invite you to see all of our facilities.

Thanks for your kindly advise and help, you are highly respected by all of GWS staffs.

I hardly to believe that you looks so young!
