Update regarding coupling a carbon fiber shaft extension to a mid-mounted motor. I've found that both the fuel line coupling and (to a lesser extent) the tape coupling are more prone to separate if you have longer (or hotter) flight times. I found a 1/8 inch rigid shaft coupler online that appears to not have this problem. A picture of the coupler is shown below. I got these at http://www.servocity.com/html/rigid_shaft_couplers.html
It may, of course, introduce its own set of challenges... Hope this helps. |
