I know that feeling!

I ordered a couple of the GP spinners (all plastic). I'll post up the weight when I get them. Mine balanced perfectly with a 2170 pack (23.5oz AUW), so I may be able to switch to a 1300 and still balance with the spinner... time will tell...

It's a shame GWS did such a great job otherwise, then went on vacation when it was time for the spinner. On a P-40, the spinner makes or breaks the whole thing...

Here is my GWS P-40, still under construction.

It is the white NPS kit with no guts yet.

The pilot is from an Alfa Model kit plus basic foam arms.

Still trying to decide whether to put the landing gear on, or belly land - especially after reading the recent posts.

Whats everyone's experience been with landing these? I want one soo bad but that guy was giving one away because he could never land it without nosing in. Is this a real problem?

If you land better than 70% of the pilots (meaning well) than you won' have a problem. Neither plane will hide inadequacies in landing.

Per page 2 of the book Flying Weight is 23-26.5 oz or (650-750g) So I have a real floater I can land my plane is a small parking lot at very low speed just have to make sure I save a little juice to keep her moving so I don't get any nasty tip stalls.

They land fine, you just gotta fly 'em in. They do tend to float compared to heavier plane, so if you're not with it on the elevator, they'll balloon and stall. My field has a paved runway, but it is very rough. I get a nose over about 1/2 the time, but no damage.

How would it do as a belly lander? Anybody try? Doesn't look like the prop would clear though.

Mine is a belly lander, and it does just fine. But I use a GWS 10x6DD 2 blade prop, not a three blader.
