Thanks for the tips on the spinner. I got done painting mine just have to put the decals on and wait for some nicer weather.

Did you use spray cans or airbrush? Either way, it looks nice. Good job!

Power system is a EmaxBL2215/20 from headsuprc. I hope its not too under powered. Did some motor tests and it should have enough guts to fly around.

Hack I used a airbrush, I bought the $3 behr samples at home depot and just really thinned it down. Went on great. Thanks for the compliments can't wait to get her in the air.

Total hull loss yesterday.

Used to be the plane I had that handled wind the best, but got hit by a gust in a low-altitude turn that rolled me up. Didn't have air enough below me to dish it out on the recovery.

Great little plane. Lots of fun over the years. Gonna miss her!

Get another one.. caliber hobby has them in EPO.

Good thought, though I would get it from HeadsUp RC. I've got a beef with the shipping charges Caliber stings their customers with (see previous on doubling the price of a .10 ounce replacement cowl...)

Anybody remember the best cg on this bird. Been flying mine for 2 plus years so i can't remember but i just added retracts and flaps so i need to make sure I'm in the correct range again.

The wing spar is always very close... certainly in the range of flyable CG locations

Added some retracts and flaps to the old P-40. Still flies awesome and landings on hard surface are great. Very short grass isacceptable but challenging. I just put slightly larger wheels on it that have not been tested so hopefully grass landing will improve.

ot my old EPS P40 out to the field today. What a great flying plane. There was about 5 mph of breeze right down the strip, and three day was as nice as i could ask for. The flying was only topped by the landings. I has for picture perfect landings, three sort liked i've never had before. The twist and turn etracts were a chore to get dialed in, but they are worth it!

The 40 came in on final smoothly, touching down and rolling out half the runway with the trail of the ground until the speed bleed off. Made me look like a professional.

I love a plane that makes you look good

Jim do post pics. I could not agree more with your sentiments. My old EPS P-40 was collecting dust because I was tired of it as a belly lander. With retracts and flaps deployed it looks awesome on final and is pretty easy to land on a hard surface. Grass is difficult but I have managed it a time or two. Requires a perfect landing on grass.
