AFAIK, eflypower get a couple of dozen from the factory (someone's garage, ) every couple of weeks, but with all this activity on this thread, I know they ran out and I had to wait a couple of weeks for my order to ship.

To avoid disappointment, order it a month or 6 weeks before your birthday.

Of course, with Murphy's law, it will arrive 5 days after you push the button on the website.

Then the problem will change into trying not to build it before your birthday.

Folding Prop

I think if the head is remodelled it should be possible to fit a folding prop.

Of course you have to be careful remodelling, or you might end up with something like this.

Look carefully at the beak. Folding prop!

Yesterday I flew it in about 15 mph winds. It handles the wind pretty well for such a light plane.

I do need more throws in the controls for flying in the wind, because a couple of times it took an unusually long time to get it to turn when it wanted to track into the wind.

At one time I cut the power off when flying into the wind and it kept on climbing with no power. It looked just like the big turkey vultures that we have around here when they glide for hours without flapping their wings.

After another fantastic 40 min flight yesterday I decided it was time for paint. I spent 2~3 hours early this morning and managed to finish the wings. Gonna to try to do the body tonight. I opted for the paint n' paper technique. It's my first try at painting feathers but I think it came out OK. I made the the top darker than the bottom.

Great artwork Maybz. I'm beginning to think all RC pilots are artists as well - Except me ofcourse. What is the paint and paper method?

And can I hire you to paint mine?

Maybz,

Very nice work. Any chance of you giving us some tips on achieving that effect?

Are the wing panels removable as two separate wings? Whenever I consider a new plane I have to think how I'm going to get it in the back of my little Citroen Saxo... Would it be practical to build it so each one is held on by a wing bolt or two?

I could post a mini how-to if you are interested.
The wings are held together by two carbon rods and separate easily for portage.
Bolts seem feasible although it would take some tinkering because the wing is hollow and easily compressed.
