G'day tdearth,
That is truly wicked!! I was flying around my house yesterday and I heard a neighbor call out her kids to "come see the eagle flying above the house", LOL.. so I brought her in for a low fly past, Then I herd a shriek "it's a plane mommy, it's a plane!!" this is so much fun!

Ipflyer,
As Tim mentioned due to the square nose and the fact the motor sit in a fair way ,I don't think a folding prop would function properly- would look better though!

Steve a reno,
That motor would work great even on 2s!

Happy soaring all. Paul

p.s. I didn't think it would take long for these to catch on!

I saw that picture on their site. It looks like they have screen printed a bunch of them or something because they are all exactly the same.

All they had for sale were the white ones though.

Oh well, I would rather finish my own any way.

Thanks Scat.

I am going to maiden mine tomorrow morning.
From all I have heard about how it flies I don't expect any problems.

Oh by the way. In case any one was wondering how durable the EPP is.
When I recieved mine the shipping box was crushed. It looks like the post office shipped a piano on top of my model.

I thought for sure I was going to have a hassle with the shipper. when I opened it I was amazed. There wasn't a crease on any of the parts, If they were crushed, then they actually popped back out to their original form again.
I was certain that the wing would at least have some damage.

I think that I am going to like this EPP stuff.

Eagle Lyrics - Rob Rock version of the ABBA classic

Quote:
Eagle

They came flying from far away
Now I'm under their spell
I love hearing the stories that they tell

They've seen places beyond my land
And they found new horizons
They speak strangely but I understand

And I dream I'm an eagle
And I dream I can spread my wings

Flying high, high, like a bird in the sky
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please

I saw good friends we talked all night
And we fly wing to wing
I have questions and they know everything

There's no limit to what I feel
We climb higher and higher
Am I dreaming or is this all real?

And I dream I'm an eagle?
Is it true I can spread my wings?

Flying high, high, like a bird in the sky
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please

Is it true I'm an eagle?
Is it true I can spread my wings?

Flying high, high, like a bird in the sky
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
Over mountains and forests and seas

High, high, like a bird in the sky
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please...
Just thought I'd share that with you

I flew it this morning and it was a pussy cat.
It flew like a trainer.
I had too much up elevator in it and it tried to climb straight up
after launch but the stall is nothing more than falling forward and picking up flying speed again.

This flies just like a glider. It looks best when just doing lazy circles in the air.
It is very realistic looking.

The hardest part of landing was just trying to figure out how far it was going to glide before setting down.

I think that I am going to put a wing bolt on it because it looks too good to have those silly rubber bands over the wing.

Tdearth,

How about put magnets to hold the wing down?

Got to go..loading the car for a big morning fly with some mates.. Eagles' coming of course!!

I use rare earth magnets on some of my smaller stuff, and of course on hatches, but I think that this much wing area would yank the wing off with only magnets holding it on.

I actually looped it and did some minor aerobatics like barrel rolls and stuff.
More G,s than a magnet would hold.

Ok, y'all talked me into it. I guess the video was the clincher. Wifes been asking me for anniversary present ideas anyway. How long did it take to make the trip from down under? Also, how well does the eagle handle winds?

Hi Rick,

It didn't really come from down under. The Australian site places a drop ship order to someplace in the middle east. I got mine in about a week though.
Not bad, it sometimes takes longer than that here in the states.

It was pretty calm when I flew, maybe 5 to 10 mph winds. It didn't even notice them. It is pretty light wing loading so I don't know how much wind it will be able to handle.
