Here is some photos of my Chicken radio install. I opted to add a foam sheet for the lipo to sit on.

Well done Don ..... look forward to seeing the Maiden ....

A question for the Guys re servo wires on the Eagle ..... I've noticed some cross over ..... others stay on the same side of the Fuse as the servo ..... any logic behind the difference ? .....

I wonder what Patricks falcons will do with your eagle in the air. I think they will either run from it or strike it. I doubt they will ignore it.

Great looking plane!!!!!

It will put less bend in the wire if you cross them and less rub on the fuse when they are crossed

Has anyone had success finding a site to purchase the Mini EPP Eagle yet?

Alex,

I emailed the manufacturer, from the link on their site, and got a reply from a guy named Hsu. He was hoping I was a prospective distributor, but I explained I just wanted one for myself. He told me it was possible to buy one directly from them, but the shipping charge was $35 USD, which seems a little high. He also said there's an Italian distributor but didn't give any details.

I was hoping to talk a local rc supplies website into stocking it but I haven't had any luck with that.

Is there any difference between the mini-eagle and the chicken aside from color? Looks and specs seem about identical. Plus the Chicken is mostly white so it would be an easy paint to make it look like a hawk, etc.

Look here, I can't tell because the eagle is a smaller photo on the wing of the full size
the specs are the same

I got an email from Mike at Eflypower, and he said you could order the chicken, but put in the comment that you want a MINI EAGLE, and they would send the Eagle.. He said he hoped to have the site updated soon.

I ordered one chicken and one mini-eagle, so we'll see what arrives,

I ordered a second eagle and a Chicken on Monday and received it today. My email confirmation came Tuesday that it had been shipped so it really only took 4 days and that's in the land of "take forever customs" Canada!
With my second eagle I am going to do the mods that make sense, Battery door and wing hold down bolts. I am even thinking of putting in a servo tray of sorts.
The chicken is gonna be great for indoor flying, the wingspan is only 22"! Could be fun at the petting zoo!!

Maiden Flight

I stayed up late last night to get the finishing touches on my Eagle, so I could get out for the maiden flight.... It was great... very stable flyer, and of course it's great 'eye candy' at the RC club!

Thanks for a great bird!

I also got my Mini Eagle today - 4 days after I ordered... Fantastic!

I maiden the chicken a few days ago. It was a little bit unstable in yaw, it was dutch rolling a lot so I ended up adding more "V" to the tail and that cured it. . Does not fly as slow as I hoped.

Would someone be kind enough to show how the v tail actually glues to the rear of the fuselage. Noticed that the v tail halves are not cut so they join at an angle, presume I just join at roughly 120degs. Does this then just sit on the back of the fuselage. I cant see from the instructions how far back should go. Any help appreciated.
