Well the second time was the charm. It was very calm and the sun was out. So I headed to the soccer field for another try.

First I had to have a little fun. Here is my "I only fly Futaba advertisement shot".

I started off with a few cloud shots. I wasn't aiming for any of these shots. I was simply clicking away so that the camera wouldn't time out after 30 seconds.


This is pretty sweet.

So I'm having a blast on my first day. I may go out later after the battery charges.

This is a huge parking lot that is great for catching thermals.

I got up pretty high on this one to try to get my house. It's hidden by trees, but my dad's car is in it.

These pictures aren't bad considering they're taken with a 2 meg camera. I'm having a blast and won't be stopping anytime soon.

Hey, guess what you'll be doing tonight instead of sleeping? Hee Hee! Thinking half the night about flying and getting even better pictures! LOL!

Looks great! Can you disable your flash? It's only good for around 3m on most point and shoots anyway so it's just sagging the batteries and slowing down shooting.

Thanks guys. I kept the flash on because photos seem to be really blurry in low light conditions without it. The flash turns off automatically in sunlight. The goodnews is that we aren't supposed to get rain until at least Tuesday so that will give me lots of time for more AP.

Paul,
That's not freeze action due to the flash. I shut the motor off and the prop stopped there on most of the photos.

Right now the weather is almost perfect with bright blue skies. If the wind will die down a little, I can take some in full sunlight.

I flew again today and wanted to show you guys my progress. It was way to windy though with winds 10-15mph. I'm used to flying wings in winds as strong as 30mph with no problems and thought that the Miss 2 could survive 12mph average winds. I knew it was a bad idea, but did it anyway. Well all went fine until the landing. I didn't have enough battery to kick the motor hard and a strong gust blew from behind the plane. Well it hit harder than normal and probably won't be flying for a couple of days. The front is a little messed up, but can be repaired easily.

So here we go.
