Thanks for the suggestion Tom...

...I think I tried that before but tried again just to be sure. The only thing I can figure is all the added stuff is the cause for this Viper ESC to not work on 7.2v with the sound box, or something in the sound box has changed....but Harbor says the later is not the case. I tried 4 different sound boxes, 2 modified and 2 unmodified, they all failed to work with the Viper on 7.2v and only the one in the video (1st one tried) worked on 7.2v with the other ESC. Very strange....

So, is Harbor Models going to have a 'scratch & dent" sale soon?

Beats me...I think the smoker I got should of been in that sale though...it is all scratched up and leaked around the seams...

I spoke with Harbor today and they said they hope to announce a 7.2 sound module in a month or so. The winter coming on will give me some time to "wait and see".
In the meantime I ordered a motor that i hope will give me some more speed out of my lobster boat. I don't want it to be a hydro but the Maine lobstermen have pretty fast boats. They even race them and have done close to 60 mph.

Just for fun, have you tried hooking up a spring scale to measure the amount of pull it can generate?

No...if I had a scale I probably would do that, but only after I found a place to attach that wouldn't pull out of the deck...

Hey wait...I have a fishing scale somewhere....hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I understand I am entering an 'old' thread but here it goes . . .

I am directing this at Capt. Crash and any other of the helpful folks out there who have worked with the Aquacraft Atlantic Tug.

Your comments, build logs, etc have been very very helpful to me.

My specific question is re: the 'combing' or dam-ish gizmo to keep water from entering the boat if/when water gets on the deck. I am in the process of trying to remedy my Atlantic (the "Jack Alden" ;-)) taking on water. I have drilled a few scuppers along the rail, made sure neither the stuff box nor rudder tube leaks, and am thinking about just taping down the back 'hatch'. It can be dry as a bone testing in the bath tub . . . but, sloshingly wet on the lake. I think it comes maybe from dipping the bow into the water when launching . . .

So - what did anyone make their 'combing' from? Adhesive used? Height? Any/all comments and hints appreciated.

Once I get this aspect squared away - then on to a new 2.4G RX/TX, 25A Viper ESC, and a 35mm 4 bladed prop . . .

I would kind of like to make pretty sure it is not going to sink before I put the last $200-$300.00 into it.

Thanks,

DLC
