Who would be interested in having a model of the Boeing Jetfoil or the Star Ferry? or both?

Just so you know, Star Ferry is probably THE symbol of Hong Kong. They are green and white, and cross Victoria Harbor. Interestingly, they are double ended, which would make quite a RC model. It is a must for tourists, and a commonplace for residents of Hong Kong.


The Jetfoil is a high speed hydrofoil that was produced by Boeing. It is propelled by 2 waterjets, which send it to speeds of up to 45 knots. They're used all over the world.

Pricing for these would be, for a kit, around $300-400 for a star ferry and $700 for a jetfoil.

There is a 50"(127cm) PHM in the works, but that is all I can say about that at this time....

Jetfoil for me. However, I should qualify my vote a little further.

I do not have the necessary budget to run to $700 or so.
My main interest is RC helicopters - $700 would go a long way in that hobby, but I cannot justify that expense to my family, even for helicopters! I have a passing interest in boats and so I do not see me owning a model hydrofoil anytime soon. I bought my Intercepter Ultra for a bit of fun.
I do like RC stuff in general, especially when people get creative and I confess to never having heard of or seen an RC hydrofoil. So the idea would be great in my (small) opinion.

Hmm.. reading that back to myself it sounds like I have a downer on boats. I do not! I'm just worried about hanging round in this area of RCG for too long... some of the stuff in here is really cool

There was a photo of a PHM in the Key West Citizen newspaper today in the "on this day in history" column. I think they decommissioned the squadron in 1993.

Does $700 include:
A GF Hull?
CF 'foils'?
Motors?
Water-jets?
Laser cut wooden superstructure?
ESC for 2 motors?..

If the answer is "no" to any of the above then $700 is waaaaay too much..

If its 'plastic', no motors and no jets, a price of about $200 - 300 would be more realistic.

i'll talk to the person making and selling these. I'm just a 3rd party, trying to gather up some sales for it's production

I would be interested in the Jetfoils models, are the price unit in USD? Are the model a RC one, if both yes I will have an interest to buy one!

Did anything ever come of this? I'm interested in the hydrofoil.
