Just another Hawker Typhoon

Hi all!

May be some one is interested in this one.

Typhoon kit from Galaxy kit .British product.
They also have a Sea Fury same size wingspan 44 inch.
Both still in production(The models)
Goes together very quickly just get rid of some heavy parts
New laminated firewall.No doublers in fuselage sides are 1/4 in.
Flying Panzer.
The set up I use :Speed 700 turbo neodym.10cells 1700scrc.
prop speedcam 8x6 or 9x6.
Flies terrific and looks realistic in the element(air)
Easy to handlaunc solo.
Elevator aileron only.
If doing slow low pass and adding full power it yaw's to the left.
Auw are 62.6oz.
Shallow glide angle.

Hi Helge

That looks superb. You've done a good job on keeping the weight down as well. What make of spinner are you using?

I've never looked up the specs on the Sp700 Turbo Neo before. It seems a good cheap 10-cell subsitute for the Ultra 930/7, and only weighs a couple of ounces more - which makes it better for the short-nose on the Tiffie

With guns on airborne it look's and sounds right too me.
The spinner is a cheap on. Plastic but not to much out of balance.
I think the spinner was in the kit.

I also painted it Sky.Finish is tissue and dope,and Humbrol Enamel
Hand brushed and no fuel proofing!Easy.
The battery pack is sliding all they way forward trough the firewall to the air intake.
I have friend who bought the same kit. (we ordered together)
his is powered with OS 32 but he has added lots of lead to balance it properly so the weight is more or less they same .And
I don't have to clean up after use which suit me perfect!
Performance is good but of course his flies sligthly faster .

Helge, I just wanted to ask for some Typhoon pics, but you have already started a new thread.
Very nice indeed!
There are too many planes out there one wants to get airborne. . Talking about winter, well it seems you´re right.
I also use those Humbrol colours for my planes. It´s nice to get them for almost every plane and colour scheme. One aspect having them on my #1 list is their weight impact, or shall I say there is hardly any?

I did an e-Typhoon a few years back.

Very nice airplane, in spite of weak, 7 cell power system. Very strong yaw to left, when power applied at low speed. 11 x 9 prop at 5300 Max. Rpm.

43 ounces, 41" span. It was sold off the following spring, but I'll be replacing it with one 10% larger, at some point.

Here's a shot of it "in its element".

Thanks for a nice "shot" looking good.

I like your model's and the way their built.
I think that 45 inch wingspan is very convinient size.
Easy to bring along and handle.

Mine has flown 65 trips total.
I have knocked of the rudder a couple of times due to landing it with low tail,rudder hits ground.No big deal.
So better to land with slightly higer speed.
I am also using a10 cells cp1700 which gives Auw.58,5 oz.

The only pic i have airborne.

I start the bottom tail block about 4" in front of the rudder. I use a bit of 1" glass cloth at the front of it, to hold it to the main bottom sheeting.

I haven't knocked the tail off like this, though I have damaged one a few years back when it wasn't reinforced in this way. It was a down wind high-speed landing....
