I like your moth, did one myself once, this is a overpowered 280 gr. heavyweighter with a slo-max main, but I still get 12 good mins. on a 2S 1350mah, really needs a DD tail to keep up though.
Yours look very interesting, what maingear is that? BCX? how's it mounted to the shaft? and what motor are you using? Pinion?

Sebastian.

Stock CX2 main gear,Axe EZ main motor w/stock 8t pinion.Main gear attaches to the shaft in stock gear pin holes.Flew it last night at our weekly indoor flying session.Flew 4 battery packs through it,but never timed it.I used TP-480 and TP-350 packs.

After flying it last night,I found that the little Axe EZ main motor gets EXTREMELY HOT.That's probably why the guys who have those heli's switch to BCX motors.I'll fly it until the motor dies, then switch to the BCX motor.

Thanks for the pics, using a BCX maingear is very clever, it'll be the basis of my next moth project.
You should consider using one of the extreme motors, it runs very cool and has plenty power, here's one on my "messy moth", never got to clean it up, everytime it pick it up I just HAVE to put it in the air and I forget to shorten the wires and so.

Rotofly
extreme motor
GWS dd
Dynam 3in1
Walkera servos
Esky HH
AR6100
2S 800mah

It's 201gr. but it would be easy to shave 20gr. or more, the super durable rotofly blades alone weigh a ton.
Smaller lighter blades like yours, lighter servos, 400mah lipo, peel the gyro, woven carbon boom, maybe an GWS EDP-20B tail if it works, never tried it.
maybe around 165gr.

This is actually the remains of my first single rotor heli ever, it's about three years old, still the original blades, not a nick and believe me it has been crashed!

Is the advertised weight of the stock Rotofly accurate at 150gm?

Dynam Supercub flew horribly, almost uncontrollable in stock form.Mods include heatgun the wing tips to remove "Wash in" and add "Wash out".Heatgun to center section of wing to add dihedral to stock flat wing.Adjusting ailerons a couple degrees up to extend wash out inboard from the tips.
