Seawind vs. ETNZ
Quote:
Seawind. First of all the hull is fiberglass and a much better radio hatch arrangement. In light air the Seawind is probably faster as it weighs 1 lb. less. The ETNZ bulb is twice the size of the Seawind. In heavier winds the ETNZ is faster and points higher. The Seawind is overpowered easily. However both boats are good sailers. The ETNZ creates a lot of attention when you are sailing with a group. |

Seawind vs. ETNZ
I have a Seawind but are upgrading to the ETNZ (should be showing up in a day or so, got it from www.hstore.com.au, they'll price match if you find it cheaper online in Australia).
I believe the Seawind could do with a larger rudder, in a strong breeze it struggles to bear away downwind at the top mark. The leaky hatch is easy to fix, I stiffened mine with some scrap plastic and epoxy, I also used some better hatch rubber (haven't had one drop inside). The seawind sails arn't too bad out the box, however I believe the foot of the sails are a little long for the booms supplied. First thing I'll do with the ETNZ is upgrade the chainplates and sails... I can't stand poxy sails! and from all the pics I've seen of the kit thats exactly what you get! It's a pitty the Kiwis lost to the Skiwis! |

Hi all here, I'm new on this forum.
I'm one of the few owner of Etnz here in Italy. I' m building it with some modifications, like the chain plates, the keel, wire... http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/2...6071039xn8.jpg (some days ago) |

ETNZ Sailing
Paul, I have sailed the ETNZ many times and it is excellenet. It does not
sail well in light winds but when it is 10 knots or more she is at her best. Tacks well, points well and is very fast. Still think I will get some sails from Gospectre.com. I did not use the winch but used a sail arm sail control which works better than the winch. I will post some sailing photos soon. |
