Any CP should be flyable outside as long as there is not too much wind, FP's can be flown outside as well, BUT than there mustn't be any wind at all.

I beg to differ - fixed pitch helis can handle a breeze that would render a coaxial uncontrollable. At least I found that I could fly my EF Sabre FP when I couldn't fly my XRB.

You may find a decent secondhand CP heli setup for $200.. I bought my Raptor 30 V1 nitro secondhand for 275 incl. radio. So, given that stuff can be cheaper in the States, you may be able to go for a nitro or beefy CP electric!

Walkera 53-1 looks great and when it operates will fly great outdoors but have quality control problems- I had two of them.

Hovering seems to be the "thing" for airplane pilots anymore.

Get a BCP from the swapshop. With the original head and flat bottom blades, using training gear and avouiding wind will get you going outside.

Good point!. I think your CPF can react pretty good in FH conditions!. But then again 2GRs are pretty good handlers themselves . Actually, what I meant to say, GHs coaxials are 2R to handle!.

..Guys, WHAT'S with abbreviations?!... there needs to be an "abbreviation translator" somewhere on this forum for all to understand.

What you can call hoovering. Do you know that more pilots have died in a Harrier than in any other plane (ok, wars not included here). The bloody thing is even more difficult to hold in a steady hoover than any crappy Walkera, and that means something.
BTW, this is a multimilion dollar airplane, but the thingy that allows the pilot to convert from hoover into ff is a 5 buck windvane, placed in front of the windscreen.

Sorry to be nitpicking, but not having english as a fist language I'm a bit confused here. Hoovering IS or ISN'T, I always thought that "anymore" was kind of a "negative" while the rest of your statement is positive
