100 inch Short Solent: Touch-N-Goes by the Master

Here is a video I took at Chilliwack on May 26, 2007 of Ivan Pettigrew flying his 100 inch Short Solent of his own design. More information on his planes (and plans) can be found on his site: http://ivansplans.com

I would have taken more video but my memory card ran out, hence the abrupt ending. He clearly has the touch-and-go perfected. It also helps that his airplane is such an exceptional flyer.

Enjoy!

Great video Luke

Shame you missed that last landing but well done at getting the great man in the shot while flying one of his creations

I hope you do! Then bring it to Chillwack and we'll have even more in the air at once!

That is so cool. It sure floats beautifully for such a large model. In the air and the water. What's the AUW?

Gorgeous location too.

According to the specs on his site, AUW is 124 ounces for a wing loading of just under 15 oz/sq. ft.

I picked it up myself and it's definitely shocking that something so big could weigh so little.

Impressive. I have a 55" bipe that weighs more than that.
