I'd think about "turning" this friend into something . . .

Well if all goes well with my plane i am working on i will be able to give you some advice
I purchased a aerobatic team usaf thunderbird model kit for 2.77 from hobbylobby not the online store and have put my aero ace guts on it. it flies straight and fast and climbs but that is all i can tell as i have no room in my area where i work to make it turn. but total weight as of now is 20grams. I will fly in my back yard as soon as i get home.and try to post results and pics if it flies well. If it dont I will begin again lol should fly good may have to tweak the CG on it.

yea I crashed mine one too many times now and decided to do a mini RC hovercraft with the guts from the jet + some extra parts like a fan to hover the craft

ok today i tried to put the guts on this plane that i cut out of foam.

http://www.combataircraft.com/aircraft/fsu25_vl.jpg

but, i only had the normal sheet of foam that was left from my new refrigirator. it turned out bad. do you know any sites or stores i can buy good foam for building planes?

You can use regular styrofoam for the fuselage, Depapered Elmers poster board for the wings and hefty depron dinner plates for the tail feathers. It will not be as robust as a stock AA but it weighs so little that a mild crash wont hurt it. I used these materials to build the jet below. It weighs 15 grams and is faster than a stock AA jet even with the weaker biplane motors.
