Question
Woooo Hoooo! Free Foamboard! – Now what?

My office recently moved and while taking a load out to the trash someone had leaned 4 perfect sheets of 30”x40” black foamboard against the bin (they must have been ARF buyers). I have some 4g and 9g servos, pico 4 & 6ch Rx, J250 w/ GWS-100 ‘C’ geardrive and both a 500mAh and 850mAh 2-cell packs that are dying for a new home. Any ideas on a very aerobatic (3D if possible) plane to put all this to use? I was thinking of an Albatross or UFO. Any others to consider?

Ufo disk would be an ideal flyer for you. make sure you have a mixer on your radio.

I built three already and fly em almost every day, loads of fun.

Tom

BTW how thick is that foamboard

Wing , How fortunate...24" UFO would be real EASY , and would fly great with that geared motor... even with the paper on it...
Youth , even though I might not have mentioned it , the UFO does fly REM too..for those with no mixing radio...my current 23" Bullseye is REM /j250DD...

The Albatross is intentionally UNstable ... The UFO is like a shopping cart compared, but very maneuverable in it's own right , maybe not full 3D, but stable and FUN... and scale too ...although documentation may be ... difficult...

Glen i know, i looked through some of your early posts about the bullseye. Does it make flying any different as compared to the elevons?.

I also went through the heart shaped valentine flyer great idea. Aperantly some people took time at making fun of it and they refered to it as the FTS. I think its an ideal flyer for somebody who just starts in the hobby and wants to do it the painless way.

Flies about the same ...really...and the stick / dowel makes it really SIMPLE .. FTS , indeed On the latest BE, we just glued the front of the wing to the top of the dowell and the rear of the wing to the bottom, airfoil is produced automatically.....flies great even with a DD j250 ...current version , waiting for a blue motor...

BTW how do you attach your rx antenna to the foam. Do you use little pieces of clear tape.
