Thanks for the pictures Prodjx and keep em coming. I have the Manta next on my build list and I have the same "kit" as you. I have no clear idea how to mount the wing to the fuse so I will be watching your progress with a sharp eye. Nice looking pod you have there. Can you share any details on how you attached the boom?

Really don't want to spend $40 on a boom, plus postage. I did purchase the laser cut kit from DPC models and it looks like very good work. Has anyone used a straight carbon boom instead of a tapered boom? I am sure it would work just fine.

I have a friend who can make a DLG boom and he learned it here on the group's and other place's. Maybe you should try to do that too. You could be the boom maker of Australia. My friend also invested in a laser cutter and is thinking about getting a CNC mill. Simply because he was impatient. He compete's with his own design DLG, he's designed and flown his own sloper's too. He soon hope's to have a CNC milled tool to fab 1 piece dlg's. He's already made his own with composite tooling that he fabed. My whole idea of doing anything is that anything is possible. If I have encouraged anybody to this I will have done my job. I learned what I did from the same folk's that built 645 fighter's in a month. That figure still amaze's me today. Something to think about.

Hi, I am a novice DLG flier, having previously built and flown glow models. My first (and only) DLG is the ASPI 97 (in picture), and I have flown it a few times. Now I would like to try something bigger, so I purhcased the Manta short kit from dpcmodels (very nice), read through this thread, and the other threads in Geodes instructions. I really want to get started building this glider, but I am missing some info on how to join the wing halves making sure they stay together in the launch! Do you use a plywood brace, fiberglass over the wing joint or something totally exotic?

I would definately use some carbon tow from the right wing to the left wing. I too noticed the lack of info on the wing join. I think it's possible to use the direction's for the SGII in the wing join area.

Prodjx,could you explain how you did the pod? Are they layers of balsa laminated together? If so what thickness? It looks really good.
