Manta launch height and DAT

Hi Geode,
I was wondering what type of launch heights you can get with the Manta series DLGs and what sort of dead air times? Also are the spars just spruce without carbon fiber or do you use a CF reinforcement?
THanks,
Ray

My DAT record so far is 1 minute 20 seconds spruce may be too week, i used pine spars and cf around wingtips(launch peg especially) and wings mid join.

My Manta launches about 90 - 110 ft and DAT ~ 90 sec.

I used bruce for spar with FG/CF re-enforcement at the wing tip and mid join. Add CF on the spar if you're a strong launcher and like to gain additional launch height.

Manta rib spacing

Geode:

Thanks for the plans, your not only a good designer, but a good draftsman as well. When I compare the measurements from the tiled wing plan to your dimensions, they are a little short (3% or so) which isn't surprisiong considering the number of translations and permutations they have been subjected to, and isn't a major problem since I don't build on the plans anyway. It would be helpful to know what rib spacing you intended though
(looks like about 2 inches center to center).

I use metric in the drawing. Rib to rib space is 5 cm and the span is 150 cm (flat on x-y plane).

Have fun building :-)

P.S.: Quite a few requests during last week. By now I believe I have replied all the emails. Let mw know if I miss any one.
