been pretty bored of building and flying lately and the last few months have found another (bigger!) challenge. After finishing a 2 day course and lots of freehand practice I'm not too ashamed to show some of my airbrushing off!

This is all the bits I've done in inks for practicing various techniques the last couple of weeks. Not quite enough form to put on a wing or heli canopy yet, but getting there.

I'm thinking of stripping back the mynx and turning it into a show model.. it's too fast & scary for the old eyes and hands to handle now anyway!

There fantastic Dave. I booked myself in for an airbrush course some years ago, but it was canned due to lack of pupils

Glenn, just get some art books and start practicing, the course didn't offer much that I didn't know in theory, but they did help with shading and texture.

I got an air brush but no matter how much air is in the room it wont spray

Dave, I got an image of a wedge tail off the internet with the view to cutting coloured tape and putting it on my J-hawk (eagle - hawk: it's a loose connection ). I edited the photo to even the tones out but in the end I just printed it up on paper on a colour printer and then taped it on the nose of the J-hawk. It was a bit of a disappointment as it neither seems to deter or attract the sea eagles or the hawks at Otford . I guess my artwork is so poor (or the upper surface of the wing is too yellow) for them to make the association that it might be another raptor. After all, they are just bird brains .

One area that I couldn't get 'right' was the glint of light in the eye or the shape/tone of the eyebrow to make it look really mean and nasty.

Anyway, I am sure yours will look much better.

LOL, Fred thats such a shame, I know we all want our hobby to give that something back,
especially to the " Wildlife " where we fly. May have to make the Whole plane like an Eagle!!!!!

I got a hair brush, but I think it is removing my hair at a high rate

Id stop using that brush KKW...

Hey Nat - what do you reckon the AUW of the hairbrush would be? May be useful as a bomb drop test on the new mod to the PC 9
