Sweet bud, that motor rocks the amps should drop with the apc sport and you will gain a few rpms.
It also picks up alot of rpms in flight too.

On Klique's recommendation, I purchased an ARC 28-47-1.5 motor along with my Demon 40. I'm running it with a 4s2p pack with 4400mah total capacity on an 80-amp ESC. Ran it up on the bench tonight with an APC-E 6x4.

My amp meter recorded 77.8 amps and 1083 watts total power! Holy . Can't say I've ever run a 1kw motor up on my bench. I guess my 80 amp ESC isn't going to be enough! I've read that the APC Sport 6x4 is more efficient, so I'll have to order one, but I doubt that will bring it down more than a few amps.

I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this level of power from this motor. Klique said to look for around 69 amps, which equates to around 1021 watts, BUT, the LightFlightRC website only rates this motor at 400 watts. It also hints that all the ARC motors are capable of exceeding their ratings with proper cooling, but I just want to be sure.

Oh man I can't wait to get my wing!!

I'm about to send a TL40 kit to Adam to be built.
My TL40 will be running that exact motor with a 100 amp ESC and a 4s 5000mAh yellow jacket pack from CK... it's going to be insane by the sounds of it

That is going to be a monster setup, with Adam building it it will probably be under 30 oz How about 500w per lb

I take it everyone agrees that the ARC motor can take this?

A 100 amp ESC will be OK but I think I'll be going to a 120 amp ESC just to be safe.

Oh, and I think I'll be building a PVC rail launcher too for this thing. Call me paranoid but if I injure a finger I'll have a hard time trying to do my day job.

That will be pushing 1500 watts...I think that setup on my test bench would probably push the bench across the room!

Tram, check the 2.5 short can out. I just stuck one on a "Non Ritewing" wing and hope to test her out tomorrow. With 4S and a prop something like 5.5x4.75 I was hitting around 500 watts and something like 45~50 amps if memory serves. Hope to have her in the air tomorrow for testing. This is the wing that is built the "riteway" that I did a touch and bounce at 120MPH or so The bounce resulted in the motor getting yanked from its clam shell mount and the wing shot up a good 30~40 feet. It survived with no real damage that i can find.

It depends.....

If it were mine I'd aim for a 35oz AUW and run two 2100, 3s in parallel so essentially a 3s2p 4200.
