brolley,

No way the 5mm shaft is bent.
I would not pull the motor to check that...just change the prop and run the motor.
I doubt you will see any wobble.

It takes a worse crash just to bend a 4mm shaft.
5mm has 56% more metal than a 4mm shaft.

. Need to pull the motor and check the shaft, hopefully the combat shaft beats the oak.

Pics below after the crash and the scoop keepin my Mega alive!
If you do see another motor in your future, Please just yell out max cell count you want to run, there are some KILLER F5D motors available !!!

I agree with Gryphon, dont even check the shaft, its fine, the adapter might be a different story though.

NICE SCOOP !!!!!!!!!!!!

4S; two packs in parallel.
Also, what prop range will work here?

Brad,
Love how you have made the hatch on your Demon! Never seen a setup that accessible before.

Sorry to hear about your tree mishap but that near indestructability of these is a great asset. Although the nose on my first Demon is starting to look like W.C Field's it still does 150 ish!

As for your batteries, use you ICE logs to check what voltage per cell they're holding under load (straight and level unloaded will give good baseline). If it's around 3.5 volts per cell or better they're fine.

Regards
Peter

use a watt meter plz, depending on the c rating of your batts and true kv of the motor you could be running a lot of power or not much... best to check it yourself to see what power it actually pulls

different propellor brands alter power a fair bit too.

just be careful on new power setups, i have been surprised a few times by the watt meter.

if griff says its ok im sure it is for a starting point. i am typically over cautious :P

(2) 4S in parallel makes a bigger 4S

(2) 4S in Series makes 8S

***1200KV with parallel 4S packs will swing 10"-11" props.

Hi Brad,
How discharged was the battery and how much load was on there on the motor (accelerating hard or level and unloaded?) when you made that calculation?

More importantly- Is it fun to fly?

To the random reader, it probably sounds like we never have any fun actually flying these things. Always pushing the limits of our equipment, and always wanting a few more mph...
