I hope so!

It's not half obvious that I'm enjoying this build!

Random question, but what would cause a torque roll on tight loops?

Are you sure its a torque roll ?
Does it do it only when at full power, or does it do it gliding as well ?

Not sure, ill have to try. I do know that it does roll under power but haven't tried in a glide. The reason im asking is that i recently cranked up my throws on a lightning 36 and it has been rolling out of loops.

Happy New Year to you too Jacko! (and all the other Ritewing slackers who either helped or inspired me in 2011)

CK is the expert on this, I am just taking a wild stab in the dark. Its where I would start untill I got a hold of his input. I would think that if you went too far on a throw, or 1 servo was traveling faster than the other, you would see a servo, or adjustment problem; eithor way, with or without power.

Another thing to look at make sure your throws are exactly the same. My lightning would fall out of a loop like that when I had a tiny difference in the max throw between the elevons.

If its torque induced that will work.

If its an adjustment or travel problem, you would be better off fixing the problem.

Ideas on a build

Slackers,
I aqurired a unbuilt ritewing about a year ago when I was buying a SII motor for my zephyr. I built my Zephyr using TBS build style with riteweave and lam. It was one of the first Zephyr so its not using I beam sparing and it flys awesome. I emailed Chris about a year ago and he said they were supposed to be built for AP. Which brings me to needing some ideas for this wing. I have a Hacker A30-12M with a Hacker 55 esc. Do you guys think this will be enough motor for this wing on 3S? I plan on using the fiber glass I beam sparing, lam, and using the rite weave on the leading edge and over the spars. I also wanted to sorta make this a night flyer with LED's. It came with two different blunt sections a 15" and a 10". Any input from you slackers would be awesome. Below are some pics. I actually aquire two ones fully riteweaved with the servos cut out using the 15" Blunt section.

Respectfully posted,
Scott

hey scott, looks like a good plan

the 12m will only just be enough power, if you want to go fast you will want a 10L or 4s. with a small motor and prop it will be harder to launch so the extra watts can give you some confidence. if you are a confident big bird laucher a small motor is fine

depending on your needs i would advise leaving out the blunt section, it will make it hard to transport and a lot more sluggish to roll, but if you want massive amounts of batts it is a good idea

i just finished my new ZII with a heap of lights, it turned out fine
