I am building a slice at the moment as well and I have to say that this is one of the toughest builds I have encountered. The airfoil is so thin! I mean its a slim one! Towards the tips is really flimsy so I used flat carbon spars to stiffen them up.

I will post some build tips and pics later but I thought I should let you all know that you really need to take to the slice a little differently then you would the others. Great care must be taken in making sure the airfoil is always flat and in its beds. Basically just take your time on this one and make sure everything is looking straight as you go, being so thin it can really get away from you.

So be patient with the slice and take great care in every step you make.

Great cover job on the 60!! I'll be watching with interest on the Slice build. I have all the parts I need to build mine and was ready to go, but some other repairs came up for me to do I got the flat carbon for the span support, top and bottom. RU doing a little TE/LE carbon on the wing tips also??

I picked my custom CK built TL 50 and it's a work of art..........again. When I look at my builds, I think, why not just let Klick do it I had this one done without having Chris put in the electronics, so I haven't flown it yet, but it is SO nice to have this one in the on deck circle!!

Hang tight and I will get the pics of my spar setup tomorrow, It worked out rather well!.

my builds are junk in comparison. LITERALLY

Shes flying now! I moved the Cg to 7.25 and it would actually fly this time. Still think I need to add another ounce to the nose as its a bit pitch sensitive. Top end speed was great for the little 16-7-7 and 5.5x4.5 prop I was running, motor was warm but not to hot to touch, I think in the cooler months it'd handle a 6x4 easy.

Question- when the servos are centered, is the servo arm vertical or horizontal? When vertical, the arm is too high. Is horizontal ok or do I need to bury the servo more?

should be vertical

i always use the lowest hole in the arm.

I try and bury the servo as deep as possible, In a lot of cases the servo ends up sitting on the CF wing spars.

Like Punk said, use the innermost arm and carefully cut off the rest, nail clippers work great for this.

Make your rates around 35 % on the elev and ail .Match the elevons to the contour of the top of the wing for your first launch,and do it wide open on the throttle.
